SEALED BIDS: Washington County, VA is seeking sealed Bids for the construction of C. Wayne Stevens, Jr. Public Safety Facility, (Washington County Emergency Medical Services Facility), at Highlands Business Park, Glade Spring, Virginia 24340. The Project generally consists of an approximately 8,602 square foot facility that will be partially a pre-engineered metal building and partially load-bearing concrete masonry construction. The location of the Project will be located on lot 4 of the Highlands Business Park in Glade Spring, Virginia. Specifications and Scope of Work are provided with the Solicitation.

OPTIONAL (NON-MANDATORY) PRE-BID MEETING: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10:00 am in Board of Supervisor’s Auditorium, 1 Government Center Place, Suite A, Abingdon, Virginia 24210. The purpose of this meeting is to allow potential bidders an opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification relative to any facet of this solicitation.
While attendance at this meeting will not be a prerequisite to submitting a bid, bidders who intend to submit a bid are encouraged to attend.
DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS: Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 5:00 pm. All questions should be submitted by email no later than seven working days before the due date to mweaver@thelanegroupinc.com . The email inquiry should be identified with a subject line of: “Questions Regarding Construction of Washington County Emergency Medical Services Facility”.

Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above. Contractors have the option to purchase an electronic set of Bidding Documents (PDF Format) for no charge or hard copy set of Bidding Documents upon payment of $400 (non-refundable) for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to The Lane Group, Inc. Upon request and receipt of the document fee, indicated above, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither the County nor Architect will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office and the County.
The project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements under Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (“IIJA”), Pub. L. 177-58. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States, as further outlined by the Office of Management and Budget’s “Regulation (Reference 2 CFR 200) on the application of Buy America Preference in Federal Financial Assistance Programs for Infrastructure.
