BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MAINTAINS BURN BAN

Abingdon, VA – On July 23rd, the Washington County Board of Supervisors ratified the declared emergency of July 12th. The open Burn Ban was established due to extremely dry conditions and little rainfall. Due to the on-going drought, the Board will continue the Burn Ban for another two weeks. With forecasted rain, the Board will consider termination of the Burn Ban at their next meeting on August 13th.
