After-School Counselors

Washington County, VA

The County of Washington, Virginia is presently seeking applications for part-time After-School Counselors with the County Department of Recreation.  After-School Counselors are responsible for assisting in the management and supervision of the After-School Program. This program operates on the Washington County, VA School System Schedule with working hours from school dismissal until 5:45pm, Monday – Friday.

Must be 18 years or older, enrolled in or be a graduate of an accredited college/university pursuing or have received a degree in Education, Recreation, Social Services, Counseling, or similar field, and have experience working with children ages 4-12 in both indoor and outdoor settings.

This position requires a thorough Criminal History and Department of Social Services background check, as well as a pre-employment drug screening followed by possible random drug testing. Employment will be based on the results of these inquiries.
