The County of Washington, Virginia is presently seeking applications for part-time positions of Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Technician (ALS-EMT)-Paramedic and Driver. Under the supervision of the Emergency Management Coordinator, engages in the provision of basic and advanced life support pre-hospital care activities for the Department of Emergency Management. Serves as part of the County’s emergency medical services system responding to the scene of medical or trauma emergencies upon dispatch by the County’s 911 center. Works as part of an emergency response team which may include other career or volunteer providers (EMT-Basic or ALS). Assesses patient status and provides the appropriate care within scope of practice. Acts as attendant in charge during the transport of patients of all ages to an appropriate medical facility. Prepares and maintains files and records. Maintains equipment and vehicles.
