The Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office is now taking applications for a full-time deputy position. Applicant must be a United States citizen and undergo a thorough background investigation including criminal history records check and pre-employment drug screen. Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent (college preferred). The position requires a self-motivated, reliable individual who can work well with the public, maintain confidentiality, have a general knowledge of computer skills, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, Avenity or Concise software are not required but preferred, understand assessment of personal, business and real estate property tax assessments, processing VA state income tax returns, tax laws/requirements, familiarity with building permits, real estate assessment inquiries, ability to search and understand survey maps and GIS maps, strong mathematical skills and additional duties may be assigned.
Salary based on experience and qualifications, includes benefits. Initial salary starting at $36,000K with growth potential.
