The Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors of Washington County, Virginia, hereby give notice of intent to conduct public hearings regarding a proposed ordinance, as follows. The Commission hearing will be held on September 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, after which the Commission will decide a recommendation for consideration by the Board. The Board hearing will be held on September 25, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, after which the Board will decide whether to adopt the proposed ordinance. The public hearings will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at the County Government Center located at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia regarding the following proposed ordinance:
An ordinance to amend Chapter 6 of the Washington County, Virginia, Comprehensive Plan to provide for rural addition road projects, specifically, Ayres Lane

Adoption of the ordinance would update the County’s Comprehensive Plan to reflect the Board’s support for use of the Virginia Department of Transportation Rural Addition program to fund improvement of Ayres Lane so that VDOT may accept it into the secondary state highway system.
