WASHINGTON COUNTY, VIRGINIA PUBLIC HEARING
The Washington County, Virginia, Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the following proposed ordinance at its regular meeting on May 11, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be held, in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia 24210.
AN ORDINANCE TO ADD SECTION 38-114 AND TO AMEND SECTIONS 38-101 AND -106 OF THE CODE OF THE COUNTY OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA, TO WAIVE THE LOCAL VEHICLE LICENSE FEE FOR VETERANS EXEMPTED FROM MOTOR VEHICLE TAX BY VIRGINIA CONSTITUTION, TO ADD REFERENCE TO STATUTORY RESTRICTIONS ON THE LICENSE FEE, AND TO ELIMINATE REDUNDANT LANGUAGE
If the Board adopts the ordinance, the County vehicle license fee will be waived for eligible military service veterans.
