The Planning Commission of Washington County, Virginia, hereby gives notice of its intent to conduct a public hearing at its meeting on Monday, March 26, 2018, 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard regarding the following proposed ordinance. The Board of Supervisors of Washington County, Virginia, hereby gives notice of its intent to conduct a public hearing at its meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard regarding the following proposed ordinance:
An Ordinance to amend Sections 1, 298, 323, 447, and 472 of Chapter 66 of the Code of the County of Washington, Virginia, to define taxi stand and to allow such use in the Agricultural districts (A-1 and A-2) with a special exception permit and in the Business districts (B-1 and B-2) as a generally permitted use
The proposed ordinance would establish that a business providing taxi service, as regulated by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, would be allowed upon issuance by the Board of Supervisors of a special exception permit in the Agricultural Districts (A-1 and A-2) and would be allowed as a generally permitted use in the Business Districts (B-1 and B-2).
Both public hearings will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at the County Administration Offices located at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia.
