A public hearing will be held on the following proposed ordinance by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard. The hearing will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at the County Government Center, Suite A; 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia 24210.
Proposed ordinance to revise Division 1 of Chapter 58, Article II, and to create Appendix “D” of the Code of the County of Washington, Virginia regarding Board of Supervisors property tax-exemptions by designation and classification and to designate as tax-exempt certain property of Old Glade Antique Tractor Association and the Fairview Farm and Homestead. If adopted, the ordinance would establish requirements for Board of Supervisors tax-exemption of property by designation or classification, establish certain classifications of tax-exempt properties, confirm continued designation of certain tax-exempt properties, and designate as tax-exempt certain property of Old Glade Antique Tractor Association and the Fairview Farm and Homestead having assessed value of $309,700.00 and annual tax of $1,858.20.
