Named after Leo "Muscle" Sholes, a Glade Spring native and noted Appalachian League baseball player of the 1950's, this park offers a public pool, softball and baseball fields, picnic shelters and open space amenities. Season and Hours of Park Operations:
* Picnic shelters can be reserved for use between 9:00 am -8:00 pm Monday through Friday and 1:00 pm -8:00 pm on Sunday. * Hours for reserved use of the baseball and softball fields may be extended to 10:00 pm with approval from the County Recreation Department.
Pool Hours (weather permitting):
Tuesday - Saturday 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm Sunday 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm * Nighttime private pool parties may be reserved on Fridays and Saturdays * Public night swimming is offered on Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9: 00 pm 2010 Park Fees: Daily Pool Pass: $2.50 per person Public Pool Night Swim Pass $1.00 per person Private Pool Party Rental - Available on Friday and Saturday nights. Pool Parties start at just $60.00 per 2 hour rental. Fee varies depending on number of swimmers * $50.00 reservation deposit required. Remainder due on day of reservation. Ball Field Rental $50.00 per day Picnic Shelter Rental $25.00 per day To reserve Park facilities, please call the Park office at (276) 429-2606. Park Rules: The Washington County Board of Supervisors and Washington County Park Authority jointly establish the rules and regulations governing Park uses and activities within the Facilities Management Plan for the Leo "Muscle" Sholes Memorial Park.
