The County Department of Building Inspection is responsible for a number of important forms, permits, documents, manuals, reports, etc. available via the links listed below.

• County Application for Land-Disturbing Permit – To be completed by property owners or contractors desiring grade, fill, excavate or otherwise disturb more than 10,000 square feet of land as part of construction or site-preparation activities (not required for single-family residential housing construction or location of manufactured housing units). • Section 54.1-1111 Affidavit – To be completed by unlicensed persons desiring to act as their own contractor for the purposes of obtaining a Building Permit. (Note: Consultation with County Building Official is strongly recommended before attempting construction-related work as permitted pursuant to Section 54.1-1111 of the 1950 Code of Virginia.)
• Commercial Permit Application - Application for individuals to fill out and submit in order to obtain a Commercial Permit.
• Residential Permit Application - Application for individuals to fill out and submit in order to obtain a Residential Permit.
• Mobile Home Permit Application - Application for individuals to fill out and submit in order to obtain a Mobile Home Permit.
• Trade Permit Application- Application for individuals to fill out and submit in order to obtain a Trade Permit.
• Site-plan Submittal Checklist- Site Plan Form Checklist needs to be filled out and submitted before a Permit can be issued.
• Erosion and Sediment Control Site-Plan submittal checklist - Application to be filled out and submitted if any land-disturbing activities such as soil erosion are likely to take place on a given area of land.
